MALL is a place that I love to visit, especially when I have enough time for window shopping. There were many CD stores in Mall, such as Disc Tara. But, I found this song, If You’re Not The One, not in music stores, but in dress boutique. I asked to the waiter who is the singer, then she showed me a CD cover: Daniel Bedingfield. I tried to remember it’s name when I went out.

Bryan Adams

HERE I have some notes about Canadian singer, Bryan Adams. I guess he was Britton for the first time I heard his song. Evidently, I’ve done wrong. It happened in 1992, when I watched Kevin Costner film, Robin Hood: Princes of Thieves at Kartika Chandra Theatre, Jakarta.  The theme song of this legendary film is (Everything I Do) I Do It For You. Oh Lord, what a beautiful song! I told myself at that time.

Lionel Richie

CORRECT me if I had a mistake! In 1984, I saw Lionel Richie  sang at stage of stadium olympic in USA. He sang All Nigft Long expressively, one of his famous song. After that, I underlined his name in my not or memorized his name in my mind.

Nana Mouskouri (3)

JOY of Love. Yes, but we call it in French with Plaisir d’Amour. It’s one of the famous Nana Mouskouri song in French. I know another French song by Nana such as Petit Garcon (little boy) and L’Amour C’est Comme L’Ete (love look like summer). Sorry if I had a mistake with my French.

PEOPLE said that Nana Mouskouri’s voice looks like angels voice. Clearly voice. Her music is so simple with accoustic guitar sound dominantly, especially in the song The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (wow it’s too long!). Nana sang If You Go Away is very expressive and melancolic, may be con dolorosa (with sadness). In Recuerdos de la Alhambra, Nana sang wordless, altogether with tremolo’s (tremble) guitar sounding.

WHEN I was in senior high school, in 1981, I bought a French Album by Nana Mouskouri. At that time, I couldn’t speak French, of course. But frankly speaking, I felt in love with French after I heard Nana voice. The first song of Nana cassette call Ave Maria. I thought, it was French song too. Later I knew, Ave Maria is Latin song, composed by Franz Schubert. Today we called it as Gregorian song. I’m moslem, but I didn’t care about it’s lyrics which admire Ave Maria and Jesus Christ. If you want to know that lyrics, I cite it for you below.

Che’Nelle

SHE  is the others female singer. When I saw her video clip at MTV, I think she is Asian female, at least Chinese. Che’Nelle, I read her name. Very atractive when she sang I Fell In Love With The DJ, one of her song which written by herself. Soon, I know a name Cheryline Lim, born in Sabah Malaysia on March 10th 1983. Of course Che’Nelle is stage name. Her father was Chinese Malaysian and her mother Indian-Dutch. But, her face was trully Asia. That why I impressed her.

Sean Kingston

FOR the 1st time I heard this song from MTV, I think, “It’s not seriously song which sung by debutant boy”. Sound kidding. Crazy boy or even idiot! But, I feel there was a simply words inside, simply tones, simply beat, and others simplies. Listen, his voice look like lately, unsynchronise with it’s music. Weird. But believe it or not, I love it! Who’s this singer? Yepp, I should mention a name: Sean Kingston.

Son’s Birthday

TODAY, 21st August 2007, is my son’s birthday. Eleven years ago, my son was born in Bandung. I gave his name Zhaffran Nugrahaputra Munggaran. It’s said, Zhaffran mean one of a river which flow in heaven. Nugrahaputra Munggaran is sundanese, my mother’s language. Nugrahaputa means son of me, Nugraha, and Munggaran means first. So, Nugrahaputa Munggaran means first son of Nugraha.

IN Indonesia, girl name like “Rihanna” is very common. Not exactly Rihanna, but it must be spell Riana (without “h”). Yes, it’s very common. In others part of the world, Rihanna is a star, big-big star.  She is a girl, just nineteen. Singer and model. She is a new icon in a huge country like America, I think, because of her sexy voice.
